HRA Active Travel Zone Workshop – March 2024 – Full Report

In March, almost 60 HRA members and facilitators took part in a Workshop organised by HRA to look at and discuss the Council ideas for an Active Travel Zone in Highfield. In the second consultation on the Portswood Broadway scheme, the Project Officers had suggested that an ATZ would need to be established in advance of the Bus-gate trial on Portswood Broadway.

Implementation of the part-time Bus-Gate (Monday – Saturday: 7am – 10am and 4pm – 7pm) is now scheduled for February 2025. An ATZ scheme might be needed if there is an unacceptable increase in through traffic in Highfield when the Bus-gate is in operation.
