This is a course specifically designed for carers of someone with a diagnosis of a dementia. Our next course is planned for the autumn and starts on Monday 9th September 2024. Running alongside Caraway Memory Cafes, the course introduces how you can live well with dementia and what support networks are available in Southampton.
The programme for each session starts with a warm welcome, while settling in the space with refreshments and a gentle mindful activity. Following that the session will include:
1.00-2.15: Part 1: Understanding dementia, your journey & yourself by the Caraway Team
2.15-2.25: Break
2.25-2.55: Part 2: What our Local Providers Offer by a variety of local guest speakers
2.55-3.00: Reflection, Q&A and homework
Venue: Church Hall attached to St Marys Church, St Monica Road, Sholing, SO19 8ES
There is limited parking adjacent to the Church for those with limited mobility issues. A 10-minute walk from Sholing Railway Station and several bus-stops nearby.

Course Details: Start date September 9th and running through to end of November 2024, this course will run on Mondays from 1pm until 3pm every 2nd and 4th Monday of the month.
The course is free but as we are a self-funding charity, donations are very welcome. We recommend a donation of £10 per session, paid online via the website, at www.caraway.uk.com donate page, and label it CCC Sholing.
Please note: This is a course for carers! The carer will attend the sessions alone and the person with dementia can be included in the Memory Café that will be going on in the next room. A safe and fun place for them to be.
