This 10km running event is part of a UK wide series of similar events,  targeted at females only, especially those new to jogging and running.

The event is designed to reach out to women of all ages who may have either or both sporting and ‘health’ motivations. Whilst there are many running event options, very few are targeted exclusively at females and the plan is to create a fun, celebratory atmosphere whilst setting an achievable athletic challenge for all abilities and levels of fitness.

Taking place on Southampton Common, this is a flat course, it is ideal for runners of all abilities. This year there will also be a 5K option for beginners – perfect for those running in their first mass-participated event.

This year, the leading charity race partner is Alzheimer’s Society. Many people know someone affected by dementia. The society reveals that 850,000 people in the UK will have a form of dementia by 2015 and in less than ten years, this will grow to over a million people. Working to find a cure for this debilitating disease but also to support those living with the condition, the society relies on charity funding to make this happen and we’re absolutely thrilled to be able to help raise funds for the charity through the series.
