Young woman approached by 2 men in a white man – near junction of The Avenue and Burgess Road

Young woman approached evening of 8/7/24 by 2 men in a white van at 6.17pm. She was walking south along The Avenue near Burgess Rd junction. The passenger in the van reached out to grab her shoulder saying “I will help you. Get in the van”. She shook him off and the traffic lights changed and she made her way home and is safe. Reported to 101; very prompt response from the police who attended to take the video she had taken of the side of the van. They will look at CCTV and anpr. Lots of traffic cameras in that area. LN suggested the police take her jacket to check for DNA.
